Bizimply

Co-founder & Head of Product

Bizimply.com

I joined Bizimply as a co-founder and Head of Product. My role is impossible to describe but ultimately my focus was on creating simple solutions to complex problems for hospitality and retail businesses. I worked on all teams in Bizimply to ensure that we created solutions that make a difference to our customers - and to ensure we actually got customers! Bizimply is a workforce management platform that allows businesses to increase productivity, improve employee engagement while lowering and maintaining labour costs through scheduling, attendance and more.
I left Bizimply in 2019 to gain more experience working with larger design and product teams. During my 6 years with Bizimply we went from 0 to 500+ clients, €1M+ in annual revenues, 20+ staff and raised over €2.5M in funding. It was an amazing journey for me and Bizimply is still going strong today.

I designed and managed development of all the mobile and web applications for Bizimply. Bizimply is a web platform with iOS and Android applications for management and employees. I also mange the design and development of the Bizimply website.

Lemonade

Passion Project

I created Lemonade with a David Farrell to create products using the method of screen printing. I had no previous experience in screen printing and built the screen printing press myself by hand. We created t-shirts, tote bags, posters and cards. Lemonade is now run solely by David and you can find his work in Dublin's Jam Art Factory or My Granny Likes It in Galway.

MA in Visual Communication

Dublin Institute of Technology

My masters degree in Visual Communication allowed me to work on various branding and print projects with live clients. My thesis explored how a mobile application could be developed to enhance a visitors experience of the Newgrange World Heritage Site.

Book Publishing

We designed and produced a publicaton with the The LAB gallery in Dublin. It was booklet about Break Bread Open, an event held as part of Liverpool and Dublin’s Cultural Corridor. We packaged it in a box and included loose imagery from the event.

BSc in Product Design

University of Limerick

Studying product design allowed me to understand the creative thinking processes. I learned the fundamentals of research and how to understand user behaviour and the psychology of design. The course gave me varied skill set but also allowed me to understand how to communicate better as a designer and how important communication skills are when working on any project.

Final Year Project - Frame

Frame was a ladder designed to promote safe practices and actively discourage dangerous or improper use. It allowed users to stay balanced and supported at all times with ample room for various tools required to complete any task. Ergonomics and user behavior were a key aspect of study in this project along with exploring manufacturing options including rotational molding and material selection.
